January thru may is time for Winter and Spring steelhead. We Primarily fish on two of Oregon's premiere Steelhead rivers, The Sandy and The Clackamas. Both of these rivers flow from the base of Mount hood. Located on the East side of Portland, you would be hard pressed to find metro steelhead river that produces fish like these two rivers do. The majority of wild fish enter the system in January and February. Fish will continue to enter the rivers throughout the year. The fish on these two rivers average between 8 and 12 pounds and there is always a chance of getting one in the 15-20
Both of these rivers are perfectly suited for two handed rods. The majority of the fishing we do is with sink tips and large flies.
The Sandy and Clackamas offer winter fishing at its finest. Big FLies, Big Classic Runs and Big Fish.
